Areas of Academic Interest and Research

My current research is focused in two areas. The first focus area is the development of spiritual maturity in faith-based higher education settings. I am particularly interested in the processes that lead students to develop a more mature faith through Christian higher education, as well as how that spiritual maturity affects their relationship behavior.

The second focus of my current research involves the development of a social model of friendship attachment, including the elements of hope, relationship satisfaction, self-disclosure, and trust. This model is based on current theory in the field of adult attachment, with structural emphasis on the dimensional model of adult attachment.
