About Denver
Welcome to the Rockies
Our campus backyard in Littleton intersects 60 miles of paths for your crack-of-dawn bike ride or morning run. The pastoral setting of the campus is a quiet haven for personal reflection and spiritual formation--next to a small river with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The campus is designed for spiritual growth and renewal -- to sit, pray, reflect, laugh with friends and enjoy informal community, or to chat with a professor between classes. It's a campus built for community.
Denver is "the mile high city" with miles and miles of sun and fun. Our great location features the very best of the "wild" west and the magnificent Rockies, including an average of 300 days of sunshine every year. You can golf, bike and hike from January to December! Aspen, Vail, Winter Park, Estes Park, Pikes Peak, and Rocky Mountain National Park are just a short drive from campus -- with some of the country's best skiing, snowboarding, winter camping, mountain biking, white-water rafting, hiking, and extreme rock climbing.
Prefer the great indoors? Take in shows at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Arvada Center or Newman Center for the Performing Arts, as well as many regional theatre and comedy clubs. Tour the Denver Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art and dozens of Denver galleries. Nature and science lovers can explore the Denver Zoo, the Museum of Nature & Science, Botanic Gardens, and the many parks greening downtown Denver. History buffs can tour the Colorado History Museum, Buffalo Bill's Grave & Museum, the Molly Brown House, the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center and many other historical museums.
Looking for fun and games for the kids? Take a trip to Elitch Gardens Amusement Park, the Denver Children's Museum, Water World, Tiny Town, or ride the Platte River Trolley. Or take a day trip to Golden to see the Buffalo Bill Museum & Grave, the Colorado Railroad Museum, the Geology Museum, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Dinosaur Ridge.
Within a short drive is Pikes Peak country and Colorado Springs, where you can tour the Air Force Academy, the Garden of the Gods, the Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Flying W Ranch, Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Miramont Castle, Old Colorado City, the United States Olympic Training Center and the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.
Dare to admit you're a shopping fanatic? Denver offers the most shops between St. Louis and San Francisco--with more than 2,000 restaurants in all varieties of cuisine.
Metro Denver has a population of just over 2.6 million people--with the region's population growth rate surpassing the country's average every decade since the 1950s. Metro Denver's cost of living is also lower than other major cities and metropolitan areas...terrific for seminary students raising families! Metro Denver also ranked in the top 10 for business growth in the past five years (infoUSA, 2005). For more city statistics, go to www.metrodenver.org.
