Scholarships
Kern Family Foundation Scholarship
A scholarship providing full tuition for an M.Div. Student who is a recent college graduate, 27 years old or younger, with a 3.25 cumulative GPA. The student must be committed to pastoring a local church, attend a networking conference at the beginning of their third year and maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average at Denver Seminary.
Timothy Ayre Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by the parents of the late Timothy Ayre for a student who is pursuing Christian camping and/or youth ministry.
Dorothy Buker Memorial Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by Raymond Buker in loving memory of his wife, Mary Dorothy Buker, for a student who is majoring in world Christianity and who is: 1) an international student who will be returning to his or her own country on completion of study, 2) an American student who is committed to transcultural (missionary) service in a foreign country, or 3) a student who plans to do home mission work.
Lew Gras Memorial Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by Mrs. L.S. Gras in loving memory of her husband, Lew Gras, for either a first-year graduate student seeking an M.A. degree or a second-year M.Div. student.
Inner-City Scholarship Fund
A fund provided by an inner-city pastor and Denver Seminary graduate and his friends for a student who is planning to work in the inner-city upon graduation or who is currently working in an inner-city ministry.
Presidential Scholarship and Charlene and Smith McIntire Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by Charlene and Smith McIntire for two (2) incoming first-year students who demonstrate outstanding academic ability. Denver Seminary will award four (4) additional Presidential Scholarships to qualified students. Students must have a cumulative undergraduate or most recently completed cumulative graduate GPA of 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Eligible students must also be accepted into a degree program by July 1 of the enrollment year and maintain full-time status (10 hours or more) each quarter.
Kathryn S. And Roy H. Prester Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by Kathryn S. and Roy H. Prester for a student who is the child of a Conservative Baptist missionary from a CBI field or the child of a missionary from another evangelical mission in either Africa or Madagascar.
Dr. Donald Jerome Barnes Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by Carole Barnes VandeKoppel in honor of her brother Donald Barnes for a student who is an Educational Ministries major in his/her senior year. recipients are chosen by the faculty of the Educational Ministries department.
Ecklebarger Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by friends of Dr. Kermit and Shirley Ecklebarger. This is available to one married M.Div. student and one married M.A. student whose major is biblical studies. Recipient must be graduating senior and must maintain full-time status.
Norman R. Kendall Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund in memory of Norman R. Kendall for a student who will be going overseas with Conservative Baptist International upon graduation.
Dr. Edward L. Hayes Presidential Scholarship Fund
An endowed fund provided by seminary supporters in honor of Dr. Edward L. Hayes, the seminary's fourth president, for continuing students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher, demonstrate need and maintain full-time status.
Urban Pastor Grant
Tuition aid is available to pastors in paid positions who minister in urban settings among minority populations.
Other Seminary Scholarships
A variety of other scholarships may be available through the seminary depending on donor funding. These additional scholarships will either be listed on the scholarship application, or a notice of their availability will be posted in the Campus News.
