Pastors Training on Immigration: A Biblical Worldview and Church Engagement

Immigration is an issue of hot debate across the country today. There is a clear Biblical call to welcome the stranger, yet many Christians are torn because the Bible also commands us to obey the rule of law. In communities across the United States, pastors are struggling to respond to the immigration debate in ways that are consistent with Biblical values while also seeing the growth of immigrants within the church body as an opportunity for evangelism.
This pastors training will be an opportunity for pastors to learn about the theology of migration and a Biblical perspective on the issue. Pastors will then learn about the impact of immigration at the local level and be given an opportunity to express their concerns about immigration. The session will wrap-up with a brainstorming session of how churches can engage, either in immigrant ministry or advocacy. The session will provide practical advocacy and ministry tools, as well as theological information and resources.
