Estate and Financial Planning, Director of Planned Giving at The Navigators

Position:
This position is responsible for assisting with the marketing and general operations of the Estate and Financial Planning Department that includes gift agreements, donor relations, mailings, recordkeeping and donor visits. This person will also interface with other departments in Development and assist the Director of Estate and Financial Planning with other assigned duties. The Estate and Financial Planning Department has two primary areas; the major gifts emphasis which focuses on more technical planning for major donors and the traditional planned giving emphasis which provides general information and assistance with bequests, gift annuities, memorials, insurance gifts and charitable trusts.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for making planned giving phone calls and visits to donors across the country. Develop a marketing strategy for planned giving prospects which include oversee mailings, website and internet. Oversee the PrimeTimers’ Program for people over 55 and promote planned giving techniques in all areas of the ministry. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required. Three years experience in planned giving required, preferably with a ministry. Past experience in financial or estate planning services is also preferred. Strong customer service skill required. Possess excellent public, personal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask; must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure. Belief and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
